RUBBER EDGE TRIM — INSTALLATION GUIDE (FINAL LOCKED VERSION)






Overview



The rubber edge trim is designed to press onto the exposed metal edges of your fountain to provide a clean finish and added protection.





Important — Starting Position



The edge trim must start below the plastic top to allow proper clearance for mounting.



  • Begin installing the edge trim approximately 1.25 inches below the plastic top section
  • This gap is required to allow the fountain to properly seat onto the mounting bracket






Installation Steps




Step 1 — Mock Up & Plan



  • Position the edge trim along the metal edge without removing the adhesive backing
  • Plan your path and identify where the corners will be
  • Confirm your start and end points before installation






Step 2 — Start Installation



  • Begin at one end of the metal edge
  • Position the trim approximately 1.25 inches below the plastic top
  • Align the trim with the metal edge






Step 3 — Peel & Press (Do Not Remove All Backing at Once)



The adhesive backing should be removed gradually during installation.



  • Begin peeling back a small section of the protective plastic backing
  • Press the trim into place as you go
  • Continue working along the edge while pulling the backing off incrementally



Important:


  • Do not remove all backing at once
  • The trim may stick to itself and become unusable






Step 4 — First Corner (Relief Cut Required)



  • Continue installation until you reach the first bottom corner



A relief cut is required to allow the trim to bend cleanly.



  • Make a small relief cut on the inside of the trim
  • Bend the trim around the corner and continue installation
  • Do not cut completely through the trim
  • Only remove enough material to allow a smooth transition






Step 5 — Continue Along Back Edge



  • Continue pressing the trim along the next section
  • Keep removing backing gradually as you go






Step 6 — Second Corner (Relief Cut Required)



  • At the second corner:
    • Make another small relief cut on the inside of the trim
    • Continue wrapping the trim along the edge






Step 7 — Finish Run



  • Continue installation until you reach the opposite side
  • Stop the trim approximately 1.25 inches below the plastic top






Installation Tips



  • Work slowly and deliberately
  • Only expose adhesive as needed
  • Ensure consistent pressure for a clean finish
  • Plan cuts before committing






Important



  • Do not stretch the trim during installation
  • Do not remove all adhesive backing at once
  • Ensure the 1.25 inch clearance below the plastic top is maintained on both sides
  • Proper installation ensures a secure, long-lasting fit






Completion



Once installed:


  • The trim should sit flush and secure along the metal edge
  • Corners should appear clean with no lifting or distortion
  • Both sides should stop evenly below the plastic top
  • The top gap should remain open to allow proper bracket engagement

Taking time to plan your cuts and removing the adhesive backing gradually will result in the best fit and finish.
